What was the first song you learn on guitar|bass?

This goes out to all the guitarists and bassists. I’ve been playing on and off for a little over 10 years now. Self taught, and I have the music division of Sonic Team, and Sega to thank for that. The first song I ever learned by myself was Angel Island Zone from Sonic 3…I still remember just sitting there and saying…I wonder if I can play that. Spent about a week just listening and playing…and voila. Got the song down. In fact, Sonic the Hedgehog – Sonic 3 helped me out. All three games. I learned different songs my sister and myself loved and built myself up from there. When I used to play (true) death and (old school) black metal, I learned by ear as well. When I used to play (old school) I learned by ear too. Half of the songs I know, I learned by ear. Video game songs I learn by ear, they are so simple. So anyway, what was the first song you all learned by ear? [No tabs, No teaching, Nothing..just you learning it yourself by hearing it!!]

For several weeks, I became obsessed with Muse’s "Knights of Cydonia", eventually I just bought a guitar and made myself learn it by ear. It was one of the most satisfying moments of my life. Pretty easy, cool sounding song.

Well the first song I learnt (by learning the chords 1st in it)
    was: Knockingon Heavens Door.
But the first song by ear would have to be Steal My Kisses by Ben Harper. I tried figuring out In your Eyes by him and could only get the E and A but I now have learnt the rest ( i was right ) and it’s a beautiful song to play. Please check out my guitar website. There’s a new song posted everyday. Plus loads more!!! http://www.getguitar.hpage.com
