the best starters bass. Is A warwick Rockbass Streamer….BUT THE 2010 series.
they don’t have this awful logo nowadays! and they changed the bridge i think.
    this is not a advert.
I have tested all the epiphones-ibanezes-squiers(why people still buy these?)-corts
and some others in this price range..
and the Rockbass was perfect. It always ends up in personal taste though.

    hope i helped.

Go to a mom and pop music shop which sells stuff on consignment. Look in the phone book for one. You can often find a good deal.

  11. Qermaq says:

    Actually, I do not …
Actually, I do not rest my thumb normally. That way it’s right there to be used when needed. I use a lot of 10ths which require thumb and pinky, but the other three fingers do most of my playing. But from playing piano and other instruments I have unusually strong fingers, so your mileage may vary.

  12. Qermaq says:

    I’d spend no more …
I’d spend no more than $300 for a first bass for a non-bass player. I’d recommend an off-brand copy of a Fender Jazz or Precision. This guy’s playing a Fender Precision, but most prefer the 2 sets of pickups on the Jazz. I actually play a P-Bass copy in a rock band, I like it but they can be noisy. J-Basses can kill the polarity that causes hum, making you have more power I think.

    Pretty good video. …
Pretty good video. Although the way I play bass is not mentioned. I rest my hand on the bridge of the bass and use a pick. It’s more comfortable for me. I have a Jazz bass (can’t stand Precision basses) and resting on the pickup or the neck or the string is just not comfortable and I don’t want to drill a hole in it for a thumbrest so I play it like a guitar with my hand on the bridge and use a downward pick to pluck the strings. I find this works the best for me… Good video otherwise!
