I really want to learn to play bass guitar. And I was wondering if it’s easy to self-learn bass guitar. I would take lessons, but if I didn’t have to pay money and I could teach myself I think it would be easier; I have a lot of patience too. So I’ll teach myself if it takes me a while to. http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Squier-Standard-Jazz-Bass?sku=512733
This is the bass guitar I want to get, but I want to know if it’s a good one, or if there’s a better guitar to get? Please help! Thank you!
and btw I’m 15
go for it , get a tuner and stay in tune !
Get a bass you like the looks of – you gotta live w/ it .
Then sharpen your ear – play along with simple stuff get to know the difference between "in" and "out".
Play alot – your hands will strengthen and fingers callous .
Look up tabs for songs you want to learn .
Play with a drummer – but don’t rely on drummers for rhythm LOL .
enjoy
-oh and don’t use a pick !

That bass you linked to is very good. There are some pretty similar and a little less expensive by SX. They have sound clips available, so you may want to check those out.
