Pissing Razors – Dodging Bullets

Pissing Razors – Dodging Bullets
(From “Pissing Razors (Self-Titled album)” 1998)

made it thru the day i didn’t kill myself
My gun was loaded I’ll point it someone else
I’ll pull the trigger cause I’m not really sane
I’m a mortal man gotta stake a claim

Dodging all the bullets I try to make my way
Critics all around me, they can’t hear what i say
Look to the heavens to teach our souls the way
gotta save the children and teach them soem respect

Living alone inside my mind, I’m living this life of pain
sometimes in life there’s to much frustration
alone i see the flashing lights

Dodging bullets of life…

dodging bullets…

Made it thru the day – I didn’t kill myself
My gun was loaded – I’ll point at someone else
I thought I’d die today
I won’t go out this way…

These guys were like a B grade Pantera with Fear Factory influences. In no way am I insulting them because Pantera is my favourite band and these guys do one of the best covers of Domination you’ll ever hear. This is their best album imo.

they were around in the late 80′s rocking out under a differnet name, ‘back door cyclops’ and were kind of traditional metal, formed properly in 1994. and got theyre name from when the singer contracted ghonnerea in a whorehouse and was quoted saying, ‘it feels like razors’

    Its not thrash …
Its not thrash metal, It’s clearly groove metal, it developed in the 90′s from bands like machine head, sepultura and pantera. I like it more than thrash, but that is just my opinion.

  17. Talvegue says:

    these guys play …
these guys play some cool thrash metal… not as good as 80′s thrash, but they are good for being so recent… most bands from nowadays play just stuff…

  18. bigpanthis says:

    we opened for them …
we opened for them once in 97-98?… let em crash at our place… these guys were the real deal. some of the modern-day “hardcore” bands… I get the sense that they think “let’s sing with a growl and then we’re hardcore”. but the dudes in Razors… they just were.

I’ll buy that. The similarities can not be denied, but there are enough differences to make both of these bands stand out.

Both Razors and Pantera put on great shows and have outstanding music (and loyal fan bases).

We saw Pantera in Austin, TX with Prong and Sepultura sometime in the mid-90s and they tore it up. (I also saw Pantera in 1990 at the Showcase in San Antonio TX, and again in 1995 in Corpus Christi TX. Dealt out – and sustained – damage in the pit every time.) :)

  21. asurpnibal says:

    ermmm, the question …
ermmm, the question you talk is interesting but i think that has some differences importants, razors doesn’t have the solos sounds that pantera gets with dimebag, but razors has rithms can be considerated more hardcore i think

  22. buddygoodcat says:

    There are some …
There are some similarities between Razors and Pantera. However, I think PR played a lot tighter than Pantera did.
