    @DuxJerome: It’s …
    @DuxJerome: It’s called practice, dude. You think Trujillo was just born with ridiculously fast fingers? No. He practiced to get that way. It’s just faster to get to that speed with a pick.

  2. legalrule says:

    Well, actually …
    Well, actually these guys are right!!

    You see they are teaching people how to play music and not how to make noise!!

  3. DuxJerome says:

    Dont listen to …
    Dont listen to these guys. They dont know how to play with a pick so they tell you to play with you fingers. Try playing speedmetal without a pick. You wouldt hold it down for a minute if your not Trujillo.

    What’s up with this expert village stuff? A lot of the time they get the wackest people to explain stuff. The guy explaining saxophone needs to learn to play himself.

  14. HrapovikPlush says:

    I’d rather listen …
    I’d rather listen to Jaco Pastorius who was a master in fingerstyle plucking rather than the jazz bass players you are talking about who used picks.

  15. mohhie says:

    when you mute bass …
    when you mute bass with your left hand and play with pick you get kinda upright bass soud. Also earliest jazz bass players used pick

  16. HrapovikPlush says:

    That’s what I was …

    Yikes! That ” …
    Yikes! That “Charlie Parker” jazz line SWUNG LIKE AN AXE!! Lose the pick to play those kind of lines, and get the triplet feel. That’s the heart of the feel. No swing feel equals rickey-tickey rock player trying to play jazz lines.
