@joel222booyeah umm i guess it is possible to slap, the fact is that the sound of this bass will not fit well the slap style
can you tell me was it possible to do slappin on this bass cause someone told me it wasnt??????
did you buy it lefty or did u switch the strings
Okay!
I was only thinking of the models available now!
However: you had an EB-0?!
Sound wise, what would you say is the biggest difference between long and short scale?!
And how does the short scale EB-0 handle the deepest tones?
@cjorata
ah cioè ti sei collegato subito? hai usato solo l’adattatore per il jack? e come programma?
il suono non mi dispiace per niente!
@Michaelingolfhansen To make it clearer :
The EB3 started as a short scale bass, the EB3-L (with a 34″ scale) was introduced later.

@ciaocross Nessun ampli il basso è collegato direttamente sul line in del portatile … cmq tieni presente che il modello del video è dei tardi anni 90, il corpo è fatto di mogano massiccio, non di compensato come quelli di adesso …
To make the difference between EB-0 and EB-3 clear:
EB-3 is not only a 2 pickup bass, it’s also a full-scale (34″) bass, with set neck!
The EB-0 is a one pickup short-scale bass (30.5″) with bolt-on neck!
Im primarily a guitarist who plays some bass on the side for fun, and because I have relatively short fingers I consider a short-scale bass, as the short fret distance is more comfortable!
But it’s limited whats available, but I have considered the EB-0!
Bel suono! che ampli usi scusa?
io sto facendo un pensierino a prenderlo quel basso!
@poshi12 yes but i’m into the fact that a bass that price should sound good without any kind of effect or pre amp or pre equalization or any other sound manipulation …
They shine when put through a pedal or two!A little bit of fuz or an envilope filter!your set!
@poshi12 rickenbackers are not basses for the budgeted ones. they are definitively high quality basses (construction wise) but still i guess that they are overpriced because the average quality of the sound (which is basically what a bass player looks for) is not that good.
@RadiusBass As far as i remember the neck was ok and should go ok for your small fingers. I purchased this bass for 140€ in a local store but i guess that today you’ll find nothing with this price.
@Seishinbunretsusho
I get the nut reversed by my luthier and yes i guess there could be intonation problems if you don’t change the nut, unless you use very thin strings …
Yeah!!No one on a budget can afford that!
i have small fingers. How is the width of the neck on this bass….?
is there any thin bass you would suggest on this price range? nice playing, sir!
Grazie
I have a question about this bass. Did you get a different nut before playing it left handed? I also play left handed, and I was looking into another short-scale bass (Mustang bass) that doesn’t come in a left handed model. If you didn’t change the nut, did you have any intonation-related problems?
The thing that i don’t like about Ricks : despite the fact that they are handmade, not all of them sounds good. I owned a 4003 and sounded like shit (while other 4003 i heard sounded really good), now i own a 4001, sounds good but i’ve heard other 4001 sounding better … now i’ve just buyed a 1978 Fender P Bass, i’m waiting for the owner to ship me from US
@cjorata – Oh, I agree. And I found that during recording they don’t have that ‘punch’ that the Fenders do. I recently sold the 4003 and replaced it with a Fender Jazz in Sunburst. Its easier to play, like the Precision, and has this comfortable slimness. So I’m a Fender fan forever! But having tried the EB3, I liked it.
Ho fatto girare il capotasto dal mio liutaio di fiducia, te la cavi con poco.
No !! You’re lucky to be a righty !! You can’t even imagine what struggle is to find a decent bass if you’re lefty !!
Yeah, Rickenbacker are good basses but in my opinion they are overpriced.
No way man, pre 99 models was made of solid mahogany.
ciao! trasformare il basso in “mancino” ti ha comportato problemi/spese/lavoro extra??…anche io lo sono, e pare che un basso lefty costi piu di un right-handed stesso modello… Infami!
can u tell me how much it was
@RayManzarek28 He used it on Queen of the Highway, but it’s wel documented that Riders ot Storm was a Rhodes.
wow nice!
are you ray ?
@RayManzarek28 Are you sure? I think thaht it’s a Rhodes, Manzarek had never play on a wurlitzer
omg!!!!! thats on the MONEY!!! gave me chills!!
my digital camera can record only a few minutes
when ill get another one ill recorded it entirely
where’s the rest of it? i was getting excited!
Right man! The strain and practice it takes on your brain to learn left and right hands takes a LOT of work!
Nice man! GREAT set of keyboards there! I’m JEALOUS!!
NICE!
I can vouch for both Peacefrog35 and RayManzarekGod. It was for sure a Fender Rhodes Piano. But the Wurly is one epic keyboard though!
Fantastic performance! Ever since ten years ago when I started trying to [feed the illusion that I can] play keyboards, I’ve had a good deal of respect for the discipline needed to play bass lines in the left hand and chords/melodies/solos with the right.
I love those instruments, but I may only ever use synthesizers to simulate/substitute the organ and piano bass.
ma dai sbagliataaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Nah it was a Fender Rhodes Piano, Ray says it on a Vid here called “Ray Manzarek Talks” By DoorsFanFabi, When he was about to play it he said “Not easy to play on a Vox Continental!”
Enjoyed your playing! I just unearthed a Gibson G101 in great condition! Glad to see one being used. The one I have has been in the house for decades. It was my brother’s who was in a band back in the day.
molto bravo, complimenti!
It’s pretty well documented that it was a Fender Rhodes. They did use a Wurly on Queen of the Highway though.
Hey man, you should make the entire version, not end it like this, you,re playing is very good !
It was for sure A Wurlitzer 200a, i have both Rhodes and Wurlitzer and for the mid note, both of em sound similar, but when you listen the solo, the higher note is clearly the Wurly metalic sound
nice video, does anyone know which e-piano was used in riders of the storm ?
Sounds very good. Love your playing and keyboards.
man I love this tune, I love the doors, and I love the g101. the connie was great too. great playing, keep up the good work!
Thx a lot, it took years to search and get those beast, rare to find , specially here in Canada
Great playing!! you’re very lucky for having the original gear!!
Excellent.. thanks for the information. Great! Hey.. you should post yours up. I’d love to see some pics of it!. I can’t get enough of these old beasts!
