    well, normally what …
well, normally what I do is I use my index to play a note lets say at fret 5, then the pinky I use it to play the fret 7 and my other fingers are less used, because they are used to mute the strings above

    Its a tutorial and …
Its a tutorial and a master piece at that. Its got some stuff in here some players never even thought of. “Less is more” style is good for certain genres and styles of music but this shows that the slap bass is capable of so much more..

sorry one more thing I have to ask, you’re not using the 1 finger per fret rule? is this something that’s disregarded in slap bass?

    What I was getting …
What I was getting at was to use them to learn from them, not about claiming as your own. To say that they were your own would be lame. That I agree.

  10. tttooommm111222333 says:

No the point of the …
No the point of the video is to teach you techniques and show you riffs you can play to practise the techniques… So you just want to steal somebody elses work and claim it as your own? That’s pretty lame.

  11. bladesaint21 says:

Isnt it a point to …
Isnt it a point to use them? Thats why they are out there. They had to get them from somewhere and someone else first right?
What is left that hasnt already been done in playing the bass?

I see so many good riffs like this one in tutorials on youtube and it’s always so tempting to steal them and use them as my own… But that, of course, would be really lame.

    Personally I think …
Personally I think it lacks groove because your throwing every slap trick you know at it in the first couple bars, sometimes less is more and helps those cool double plucks stand out more. Just my thoughts.
