    Makabarett is right. Seriously everybody with any interest in bass, go watch Dave Marks’ Bad Habits for Bass. He’ll show you why starting on the first four frets with this exercise is a bad idea.

    good excersise but dave marks says its not good for beginers to start 1234 exercsise on 1st or bottom end frets-start somewhere about 8th fret and biuld strenghth from there to avoid injury

    good exercise, but can you do it a lttle bit slowly, it’s hard to understand for non english speaker, mostly if he is a begginer
