Slap Bass lesson, double thumb/pluck and funk peel-off

A slap piece of my own in G. I created this so i could practice the techniques. There’s a section at the end where I show the right hand techniques. Hope the video is of use.

I’m now on http://playbassnow.com (thanks MarloweDK) go to Guest Teachers and find Casimer and other guest teachers there.

    Hi Nasrudin06,

    Hi Nasrudin06,
that’s a valid way of playing if it feels comfortable to you. It can help to sort of springboard your hand off the body when playing certain techniques. I do it when playing a double pop on the D or G string (index then middle finger), but it doesn’t feel necessary to do it all the time for me. Each to their own though. Cheers

    Hey, great vid dude …
    Hey, great vid dude.
    I need some advice.
When popping the strings, I almost always support my 1st finger with the others by pressing against the bass body.
Does that lead to bad technique/less speed and control?
Should I get rid of it?
I wondered because I can see your hand is almost always hovering above the body.
