In response to … In response to IaSg14: So… you want an Airplane song that is technically difficult with some serious finger- pickin’? Check out Embryonic Journey off of Surrealistic Pillow. It’s an acoustic solo but Jorma Kaukonen really impresses with his technical ability. Think of Yes’ ” Mood for a Day” which is also a beautiful guitar solo of the same style. If you can play either one of these songs with proficiency, then you are a very good player indeed! Good luck, but “Freebird” it ain’t.
It was magic. … It was magic. Everybody really believed in what was happening. This very first Airplane long player was THE signature sound. The San Francisco SOUND. Everything else traced its kool back to THIS album.
The “Jefferson Airplane Takes Off” was orders of magnitude above EVERYTHING that followed or went before
I need help finding … I need help finding a Jefferson Airplane song and I figured fans of the band on a Youtube video could maybe help me out. I don’t know if one exists but have they ever done a song with REALLY difficult or consistently tricky guitar through it. For difficulty, I’d say “Free Bird” solo difficult.
If anyone can direct me to a song like that then I’ll be truly grateful. Thanks.
Marty wrote and … Marty wrote and sang real love songs.
Direct. A great performance.
Another way to tell your honey…
“I love you.” ..
“As I get older…” he was 26!!

I would of loved to … I would of loved to have been in SF in ’67 and witnessed the “Summer of Love”.(and I was just 2 hours away!) but I was just to young.
pyrophore I was … pyrophore I was just thinking the same thing. I’d heard them do it live but when it came out the local SF AM it was a rush & the first of our new SF sound to be on the radio & before all the other people came to SF when it was still local & summer of 1966 was the real SF Summer of Love.
Jefferson Airplane Loves You.
I was SOOOO in love … I was SOOOO in love with my very first boyfriend when this song came out. Listening to it again brought back SO many great memories !!!
