    Dude, it doesn’t …
Dude, it doesn’t really matter(try both). What is important is the next note. This is a “hammer on”. Just like guitar. The fret finger “bangs down” onto the string. So you first either slap or pluck…then “bang” your fret finger makes that next sound. It’s almost instant. That is what makes the funky sound. It’s not slap then wait. It’s not pluck then wait. It’s all in the hammer-on’s. I’m surprised most instructors don’t emphasize this. Maybe because they “assume” you know.

  18. Chargeglass says:

    Action may need …
Action may need lowered, to do this, you will lower your tuning by more then a step, it really doesn’t matter how much you lower it as long as you lower it signifficantly, this is how you tune to intonation, lower the B, E, A, D, G, strings (5-strings) 4-string minus the B, lower the allen bolts, where your fretts stop buzzing at an almost regular tuning, now tune your bass with a chromatic tuner, after this, hold your finger on the 12th fret (Harmonic) tune to that, this is how you tune the

    Well… When you …
Well… When you play a new bass, or an old for a bit, there’s two things that can happen. #1, the neck get’s worn in, which means your truss rod, is finally giving in, which only means, your playing it, you may need to adjust your truss rod, look at a manual for instruction’s, this can dmg your neck, if you are not VERY careful, #2, means, your actions has loosened, which can mean your neck has worn in, but may be, right where you need it, if you hear a buzz when you hit certain notes, your.
