George

Hello and thanks for your comment and questions.
10ths are explained in my video titled “Learn Bass Chords in 10ths”.
3rds are explained in my video titled “Free Beginner Bass Lesson Video – Chord Theory”.
Enjoy your new learnings!
George
hey.. Great video. thanks for uploading it! whats a 10th and 3rds?
Ah, thank you George (:
Hello
Soft flatwound strings (such as I use on several of my You Tube videos – those with the orange P-Bass) are easier on fingers and frets. The low mid-range is more emphasized (more punchy) and the highs have much less “zing”.
Depending on your taste and the music you play, this had advantages and disadvantages … and the only way to find out – as usual – is to do your own tests.
The split coil in neck position will produce more of a P-Bass sound – a bit “thicker”.
George
Hello George. I’m a beginner at bass, but my friends all say im a quick learner. I was wondering a few things, what is the difference between roundwound and flatwound strings (not technically, just to the bass, sound, and to your fingers) and also, do you think i should change my fender jazz bass’s neck pickup to a split coil? i was wondering what the difference between them was. Thanks for reading, and thanks for the great videos!
Yes, you can do exactly the same on a 5-string bass.
George
i have a 5 string so do i still wach this
Good on all counts!
Thanks and best regards,
George
you rock.
I am a Bassist, i Play With My Fingers and i never use tabs
Does this only happen on my videos?
George
I don’t do tabs. Most of my You Tube videos are explained well enough (possibly after several views) to get the frets, strings, notes etc.
George
George do me a favor and tell me where can i find tabs of what you play pls…I only play metal in bass and rock of course!!!
thanks .. but why are all your videos so not audible..
I’m always happy to be helpful. Thanks for your appreciation.
George

Hello, I don’t know exactly what you mean. The sound is quite normal and the technique is explained in the video.
George
how do you make it sound like that??
… and we are loving it!
George
We have the same bass guitar
thanks
Thanks for checking in.
My step-by-step Beginner series of Bass Lessons Online can easily be used by left-handed players – just use the “mirror image” approach.
Also, especially in the early stages of my lessons, I often make relevant and useful suggestions for left-handed players (also for 5 and 6-string bass players).
George
ive been on your site and it is well set out. how may i use this as a novice left hend player????
Excellent. Thanks for your enthusiastic comment.
George
I can hear everything just fine. Thanks! You’re awesome
Excellent – thank you!
George
Love your lessons, you just got yourself another subscriber!
This is one of e few videos I recorded in full stereo mode, where the voice is on one channel and the bass on the other.
Please check your computer/stereo settings to get either both channels or mono.
Good luck!
George
I really can’t hear anything you say ._. the others videos are ok, but I can’t hear anything in this video =/
“why? whyyy??? buaa” xD
*sorry for my poor english*
hugs
Yes “double stop” is a classical term, meaning to play two notes simultaneously on a stringed instrument.
George
double stop?
@godot93 VOLUME !!!!!!!!!
This video is recorded with the voice and bass on separate channels. The bass is quite loud, on the right channel.
Please check you system setup.
George
I can’t hear anything you say, and barely hear your bass.
That’s great – I’m glad you had the benefit!
george
Thanks a lot!, very good lesson.
for your information, some people (including myself) actually enjoy listening to people explain the theory that is used behind music. Go play your power chords to your pop punk music..
